Paulette Boudrot

It is with sorrow that we send condolences to author/translator Paulette Boudrot for the loss of her husband Richard.

Falmouth MA:  Richard A.J. Boudrot passed away peacefully at his long-time home in Falmouth, MA, on July 5, 2019, at the age of 80, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.  One of seven children, raised in Cambridge, MA, he was the son of Edward N. and Mary A. (Kenney) Boudrot.  With his educational background in engineering, his career spanned over 28 years at Polaroid Corporation, where he enjoyed the innovative culture and crossing paths with numerous Boudrot colleagues. He also served in the US Army. Later, after retirement from Polaroid, he joined Ocean Spray, Cape Cod Potato Chips, and Tree Tops Condominiums to lend his expertise for twenty years.

Richard was known for his strong work ethic and his passion of entertaining family and friends.  He was an avid reader, tennis player, ping pong champ, bocce player, billiards player, sailor, and later in life, singing.  He had a wonderful talent for storytelling, reminiscing of his Cambridge roots and attending games at Fenway Park, the Orange Bowl, and the Patriots at Harvard Stadium with his dad and brother Ed. His fondness for travel brought him throughout the US, the Caribbean, Canada, Europe, South Africa, and Southeast Asia.

He is survived by his wife, Paulette (Letendre, Johnson) Boudrot; his four daughters, Suzanne Shea and her husband Christopher of Stuart, FL; Michelle McCarthy and her husband Brian of Beverly, MA; Patricia Boudrot of Danvers MA; and Jacqueline Boudrot of Danvers, MA; his two sisters, Jacqueline Buckley of Concord MA; and Annette Carroll of Winchester, MA.   Proud grandfather of Megan, Lauren and John McCarthy; James, Katherine, and Caroline Shea; Michael Boudrot; and Finn McLennan and Jetty Johnson.  Richard is predeceased by his wife Patricia K. (Dempsey) Boudrot; Joan Ojala; his sisters Mary Murphy and Jean Cleary; and his brothers Edward and Stephen Boudrot.

Donations may be made online to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, www.pancan.orgServices will be private with a Celebration of Life to be held in the fall.
